Dr. David W. Matear, BDS, BMSc, MSc, DDPH RCS (Eng.), PhD, MCMI, MHSM, FRSH President Senior Consultant
Dr. Matear is formerly Senior Advisor in Health Policy and Regulation in the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD), where he was involved with major projects in the areas of standards development for the health care system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, licensing of health professionals, facilities licensure and inspections, development of regulatory policy, health care strategy, and the development of a governance and professional organization structure for health care professionals. Dr. Matear is highly regarded as an expert on global transformational leadership, having most recently conducted research on leadership competencies in health care in the Middle East, and has previously examined priorities and relative importance of health services in different socio-economic groups. He continues to publish papers on leadership, management, professional education, professional practice, and access to care.

Dr. Johann de Vries BChD, BChD(Hons), MDent, FIAD, FPFA, FACD, FICD Senior Consultant
Dr. Johann de Vries has more than 30 years experience as clinician, professor, and administrator in dentistry and dental faculties on three different continents. More than 17 of those years have been in deanships of major dental faculties. He has chaired a number of professional association and academic committees and been a member of numerous international professional councils and advisory boards. Amongst the many, he is past President of the International Federation of Dental Academics and Associations. His international experience includes visits to more than 53 international dental companies, 88 universities internationally, and attendance at 336 international congresses during visits to 35 different countries.
Dr. de Vries has also played major roles in the establishment of new dental faculties and their accreditations. His commitment to the advancement of the dental profession through the development and improvement of education is exemplified by his status as a Fellow in four international dental colleges.
Dr. de Vries' areas of expertise include: educational programs initiation, development of the oral health team from auxiliaries to dentists and the associated educational and graduate programs, program planning, technology in dental education, accreditation and faculty reviews, leadership development, communication strategies, and strategic planning.
